Holmes Chapel Music Society was formed in 1972 to promote an interest in a wide range of classical music.
It organises concerts by professional performers; many internationally renowned. It is a Registered Charity (No. 508820).
Its President is SIR BERNARD LOVELL O.B.E., F.R.S. and its Vice Presidents are
SIR MARK ELDER CBE and SIR FRANCIS GRAHAM-SMITH F.R.S.
The concerts take place monthly from September to April each year.
They regularly attract audiences of up to 300 in the specially adapted hall of the Holmes Chapel Leisure Centre.
The acoustics and amenities are particularly suitable for this type of music.

The atmosphere is friendly and informal and performers are encouraged to introduce the music and to meet members of the audience in the bar after the performance.
Audiences enjoy coffee and a chat with friends during the generous interval.
We go out of our way to welcome new members and listen to their views.
Wheelchair access is available by arrangement.

The Society also arranges visits throughout
the season to the Hallé Opus One Concerts at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
It acquires discounted seat prices anywhere in the hall, which are pre-booked in May each year.
A coach picks up in Holmes Chapel and Knutsford.
